OBJECTIVES
The
Montessori approach is designed to assist the child in acquiring
the socials skill and self-confidence, which are needed to fulfill
his own potential. This is accomplished by building on interests,
nurturing enthusiasm and making activities available to fit individual
needs.
Though
much has been said about the academic achievements of Montessori
children, the value lies in the self-discipline, self-mastery and
love of learning that children achieve.
Because
interest is stimulated and the Montessori materials are at hand
whenever a child is ready, most children begin to read and calculate
at an early age.
“It
is true, we cannot make a genius,” Dr. Montessori once wrote,
“We can only give each individual the chance to fulfill his
potential possibilities to become an independent, secure and balanced
human being.”
