END OF YEAR GOOD WISHES
Your entire faculty and staff wish you and your families all the very best for a happy and safe summer. We all look forward to seeing you in the new school year. Returning students start on the 5th September 2011 and new students on 7th September 2011. Students moving from Crèche to Casa will begin with the returning students on 5th September. The Crèche will be following the CHMS BVI calendar for the next school year so the same dates will apply.
As in previous years we do not start P.E./Music/Poetry/Drama/ASC/Latin/Domestic Science until October so as to give the children time to settle in.
POETRY NIGHT
This event was a huge success and enjoyed by all who attended. The children presented their own work entitled "Circus on the Moon" and Children's Hour by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They also presented an improve dance piece organized by the "hip hop boys". Many thanks to the parents that donated refreshments for the children.
SPORTS DAY
This event is always well received by students and parents alike and thanks to Coach Charlie's planning it went very well. Thank you to all the parents that supported this wonderful event in the heat.
IN HOUSE GRADUATION
Monday 27th June at 12.30pm is the in house graduation ceremony for children moving from Crèche to Casa and Casa to Elementary. Parents are invited to attend this event. There will be a presentation of books to the graduates and a number of musical and dramatic presentations by the children. Drinks will be available.
SUMMER BOOKS
If you would like to take home school reading books for the summer months please enquire via the office. The school requires a $100 deposit before books are released. This is returned in September if all the books are returned in the condition they left the school in. The school has recently invested in a number of new books and would ask that they be treated with respect.
MAGAZINES FOR ELEMENTARY
The elementary class is looking for donations of age appropriate magazines which can be cut up to use for collages. Please hand any items to Ms. Elizabeth or Ms. Maduro before the end of school.
T SHIRTS/BOOK BAGS/HATS/DRESSES
These items are available in the office at this year’s prices. However, there will be a price increase on commencement of the new school year. All these items will be $25 each.
END OF TERM
A reminder that the last day of this school year is Thursday 30th June at 12.00 for CHMS, BVI and LPMC, BVI students. Children can wear their Freaky Friday clothes and bring in a game or toy from home. No electronic toys will be allowed as in the past children have lost or broken them. Please make sure all your child's clothes, juice bottles and back packs are out of their cubbies on the last day of school. Any items found after the last day of school will be taken to the Red Cross. Please return any school library books to your child’s teacher. Lost and found items in the office and second hand uniforms will go to the Red Cross after school closes.
REMINDER
Mrs. Morgan will be off island during September to settle her daughter Brittany into University. This information was sent out over a year ago to inform parents that the office will be unmanned during that time.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Please be reminded that the final after school care class for this year will be Wednesdays French class. There will be no after school care on Thursday 30th June this being a half day. After School Care classes will resume in October.
HLSCC COLLEGE CLASSIC SERIES – 16TH SEASON
The HLSCC will be organizing another College Classic Series starting with the first race on 17th September. More information to follow.

SUMMER PROGRAMME – DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION & FISHERIES
The Department of Conservation & Fisheries will be running a Summer Programme between 11th – 22st of July on Tortola and on JVD between 25th – 29th July with courses based around the environment. For more information please contact Mrs. Duncan on 494 3429.
